A Voice is composed as 6 parts:
1- The waveforms:
You can use up to 4 waves, tuning them by half-tone (+/- 4 octaves), fine tune and spectrum for each.
These
wave can be combined into 57 structures using ring-modulation
(*), frequency modulation (>), or just mixing the 4 waves (+), without
modualtion. This feature allow you to generate many and many waveforms,
from a simple sine wave to some very complex.
Adonis 2 got a parameter
called "Analog Drift". This feature simulate the heating / instability
of old components, like olds analog synths.
And of course, the "sync" function, between Voice 1 and Voice 2.
"Pitch Mode" allow to play in 2 modes: Fixed = same note for all key (useful for transient). Keyboard = normal playing.
2- AMPLITUDE ENVELOPE.Adonis 2 use a graphical envelope for amplitude, up to 32 stages. Each stage
can be set in time and level, by simply click & drag any point.
Each stage can also have it own curve.
To modify a stage, do a left-click and a menu will appear. The items are:
- Shapes
- Sustain stage
- Repeat stage to repeat the envelope from the stage you specified or from start, until the last stage.
- Active stages, to set the number of stages you want, from 1 to 32.
- Box size: The green points used for moving stages.
- Zoom: Very useful if using many and longs stages. You can also scrolling by using the "slider" in top-right corner.
- Insert stage.
- Delete stage.
- Adjust total time, in percentage.
You can also drag a point by using keyboard-mouse combination:- CTRL+Click to move a point very slowly. Great for fine adjustments.
- Shift+Click for medium speed.
Other parameters are:-
Time scaler: set the global duration.
-
Lock mode: Levels to modify just the time.
Times: to modify just the levels.
Total time: to modify level & times without changing the
total time.
-
Use for pitch: For using the envelope as a pitch modulator.
3- KEYBOARD SETTINGS.-
Seq:
Set it to On if you want to using the Voice with the built-in
sequencer. Set it to Off for normal play with keyboard / controler...
Well, no sequencer
-
Mode: Monophonic or polyphonic
-
Retrigger: Retrigger the envelope when playing legato.
-
Mono Note Priority: Define which note you hear when playing legato in mono mode.
- High note / Low note: Use it to split your keyboard
4- VIBRATO.
A dedicated LFO for each Voice. You can defined the shape, speed and amount level for aftertouch and modwheel.
5- VELOCITY.
Each
Voice got it own velocity curve. You set it graphically by simply
moving points. To add a point, make a double-click on the line. To
delete a point, make a CTRL+click on it.
6- ARPEGIATOR.
Each Voice have it own arpegiator, clocked on the host tempo.
- Transp: Transpose mode. Free = Always free running.
Reset = Reset on each transposed note.
- Mode: Down, Up, Up & Down... etc
- Divide: Set the beat.
- Range: Up to 4 octaves.
- Hold: If set to "On", the sequence continue after you release your fingers (or what you want :-p ...) from the keyboard.
- Note gate: Set the global note duration.
